Ok. I'll start. I voted yes for the following reasons:
1) I'm an optimist 2) (knock on wood) It seems like the team is coming together, finally. 3) I despretely want to see playoff hockey again at Scottrade Center. 4) Lots of games left to gain the remaining ground.
1) I feel it is inevitable that at least one of the two bottom playoff bound teams (currently #7 Vancouver and #8 Calgary) will hit some sort of losing streak. 2) Seasons are cyclical. The Blues started off on a very good note, going 16-9-1 through approximately the first third. We then went 8-13-6 through the second third of the season. We have gotten at least one point in each of our last 5 games. To me, I think in this, the final third of the regualr season, the Blues are showing signs of an upswing lasting through the rest of the season 3) I also find it encouraging that even though the Blues have endured a two month span of playing subpar to mediocre at best hockey, they are still only three points out of the playoffs 4) Therefore, I propose that it is not only possible, but entirely likely that the Blues will play at least an above average level, which would give us very good chance at making the playoffs
They look great lately, Avs have a bunch of injuries and hopefully manegemnt will pull off one of those awesome trade-deadline deals. So I voted yes. And like kevin I want to see playoff hockey again.
I am impressed with these last few wins but have to be honest. It was the kings, blue jackets, and blackhawks. Those are the 3 worst teams in the west, so we should beat them. The real challenge will come with Anahiem, Phoenix and Dallas comming up.
Well no duh. Of course dallas and detroit are the real tests. If you can beat dallas, detroit easily, I doubt you would have any worries about making the playoffs would you? But this poll is about making the playoffs, not winning a Stanley Cup.
But Phoenix as a test? They are one point ahead of us having played two more games. They are currently 9th in the west. I don't think you are giving the blues enough credit on their past 6 games.
The Blackhawks went 4-0-1 going into that game, the kings had gone 5-2-1 before their loss to the Blues, and the Blue Jackets are only two points behind us. We also beat Colorado AT colorado during that 6 game stretch. LA may be the worst, but you still have to get the job done, and that includes playing the lower teams and winning when you need to. And I wouldn't shrug off the Blackhawks and Blue Jackets as bad teams either. Columbus is only two points back from us, and Chicago is three points behind us. The west is so bunched together anyway, that its difficult to say that those two are so much worse than the rest of the playoff bound teams (except Detroit, Dallas and anaheim).
I point in 3 chances on the road. We're screwed since 12 of our last 20 are on the road. And it's sad when you go 0 for 7 on the power play and 1 for 14 on the trip.

After beating Chicago 5-1 last night, I figured more people would have voted "yes" by now.

I voted 'No' just to make you mad. :) But really I want them to make the playoffs so that my friends brother Paul Statsny can play some more.

Pretty big setback last night.
Tonight is almost a must win now.
I still have faith, but last night was a total embarrassment.

I still feel like Nashville will collapse down the stretch and we can over take them.
But who knows what this team will look like after the deadline.
The situation is getting bleak to say the least.
It also doesn't help when you get outscored 9-2 in three games.
